Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes reach divorce settlement already
Our days upon days of waiting for the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes saga to peak has come to an abrupt end, as the couple have reportedly reached a divorce settlement already, not even two weeks after Katie filed. What are we supposed to fill up the blog with now?
"The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life," Katie's attorney Jonathan Wolfe told People in a statement.
The former TomKat released their own joint statement pointing out there are no details being released.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests," they said. "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."
So that's it; no word on money, custody or dirty laundry. Speculation says Katie will keep Suri in New York, but Tom will have plenty of visitation rights. That sounds like it would keep the 6-year-old out of Scientology schools in California, which has been the alleged impetus of this divorce. Either that, or Katie's five-year contract really did run out like some people are saying. The Juice* was hoping to wring at least a month out of this, too.
