Tonia Sotiropoulo named as latest Bond girl for 'Skyfall'
It's time to meet the new Bond Girl, because fairly unknown Greek actress Tonia Sotiropoulou has announced on her own Facebook page she'll be starring in Skyfall with Daniel Craig. Well, we have to take MI6-HQ's word for it. That's the name of the blog that was reporting it.
"Dear friends I officially announce I got a part in J. Bond new film!!! Turkey here I come! Thank u all for you love and support! This is officially the happiest day of my life bitches!!!!" she posted as her status, the site says. She originally auditioned for the role of Bond girl Sévérine, but French actress Bérénice Marlohe won that, so her agency kept pestering the casting director until she won a part director Sam Mendes was okay with.
She's going to be shooting two or three scenes in Istanbul starting April 22, so expect her to have a minimal part. But that's okay, because she's the first Greek Bond girl ever, and her career will skyrocket once joining the likes of Denise Richards and Maryam d'Abo.
