Tracy Morgan taken to hospital at Sundance Film Festival
Infamous diabetic and actor Tracy Morgan ended up in a hospital Sunday after falling over unconscious at the Sundance Film Festival, the Hollywood Reporter writes. But don't worry, he wasn't drunk, just ... uh, just something was wrong with him.
Morgan, who underwent a kidney transplant in 2010, was being escorted out of an awards ceremony in his honor following his acceptance speech when he fell over outside the building and taken to a hospital in Park City, Utah. During the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards dinner, he was pretty rowdy, THR says, with lots of yelling and falling down. That led to lots of people thinking he was drunk because, well, it's Tracy Morgan, even if he was in town promoting his movie Predisposed. Not so, his people say.
"From a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention," Morgan's rep told THR. "He is with his fiancee and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100 percent false." Pal Cuba Gooding Jr. later told ABC News "he's all right, he's fine," so we'll stop worrying for today. Perhaps he just heard that Paula Deen announced she was diabetic and also sponsoring an $8-per-day diabetes shot that has been known to cause thyroid cancer.
