'True Grit' star Hailee Steinfeld may join 'Ender's Game'

If there's one thing The Juice* can get really geeked about, it's the upcoming adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game (not to be confused with The Hunger Games). And while the movie raised our eyebrows at first, the word they're now pursuing True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld is proof they're taking the whole thing seriously.

While script writer and director Gavin Hood has already secured Hugo's Asa Butterfield to star as the titular main character -- a boy in a military academy training in games to fight an alien species -- Steinfeld could potential play Petra, one of the only girls at the Battle School, who becomes a Ender's trusted friend, Variety says. The movie has a planned release date of March 15, 2013.

There's a lot of other buzz about the cast, which may include Harrison Ford in an unspecified role. Variety says they're currently looking for someone to play Battle School instructor Col. Graff. Ford's too old for that role, but since when did Hollywood make a movie without taking some liberties?
