USF grad Amy Mariani represents Tampa in Charlie Sheen's intern search
It's time to break the one-week ban on Charlie Sheen, which has actually been going on for about three weeks now, by noting the loopy actor's online search for an intern has a local connection (of course it does). You see, one of the third-round finalists is a USF grad -- ladies and germs, meet Amy Mariani.
The New York state native -- who now lives in Tampa, by way of Orlando -- recently posted her video for the competition (watch it above) and apparently hopes to make the final cut out of the current 250 third-round applicants. You can catch her on ubiquitous social media outlets, including a Facebook page, Twitter feed (@AmyMariani), a Tigerblood Intern campaign website and personal website. Full discolosure: Amy was an editorial assistant at the Tampa offices of tbt*'s parent company, the St. Pete Times, in 2009, but she's working for USF now.
We wanted to ask her why she would ever dare want to work for an unstable madman like Chuckwagon, so we took to Twitter (natch): "I want to be part of the growing social media phenomenon," she said. "Plus, I grew up in the circus ... this can't (be) much different." We'll pull for you, Amy, but you may be better off not winning, know what we mean?
