Usher gives up on's World AIDS Day campaign, starts tweeting again

While there have been plenty of celebs who have elected to kill off their Twitter feeds until Alicia Keys' Keep a Child Alive campaign raises $1 million, it looks like Usher just couldn't be bothered to wait. The singer restarted his Twitter feed on Sunday, despite only making about $300,000 at the time. Hey, he's got important things to say.

"Twit fam, I'm whack for being late, I need your help," he wrote via @UsherRaymondIV on Sunday. "Twit, Happy Birthday Rico Love!!! He is the man that wrote you 'There goes my baby' " The producers birthday was actually Dec. 3, so obviously it was a big enough deal for Usher to break his promise to raise awareness for World AIDS Day (which was last Wednesday). He has continued yammering about nothing ever since.

Usher is the first celebrity with an attention span short enough to restart his Twitter account despite staging a "digital death" to support the charity. You can still try to buy the likes of Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian back to life by texting a participating celebrity's name to 90999 or going to today, or just wait a few more days for everyone else to give up, since the charity is still way south of $500,000 six days into the stunt.
