'V' may end on a cliffhanger, cancellation or not
V may be a better show this season, but the ratings aren't the best, so ABC may cancel it sooner than later. The creators of the show don't care -- this season will end on a cliffhanger no matter what.
Entertainment Weekly says producers want the season to close with you wonder what's going to happen to the resistance and the entire planet Earth, but its average of 5.7 million viewers per episode so far may put the kibosh on a third installment. The mag postulates that they may be bucking for the cliffhanger to generate enough fan support to keep the series going no matter what, a la Jericho a few years back.
For all The Juice*'s dissatisfaction with remakes, we think V has done a pretty good job shoring up a lackluster storyline this season, mostly with the introduction of the '80s Diana, Jane Badler, but we would really miss Firefly alum Morena Baccarin the most should the show get cancelled. Story means very little to ABC, anyway; look what happened to Flash Forward, for crying out loud.
