Vince Vaughn gearing up for 'Rockford Files' remake
It's time for more remake rage ... except this time we can actually see this working. Word from Hollywood is that Universal Pictures is working with writers to redo The Rockford Files with Vince Vaughn in the title role. Hmmm ... he does kind of seem the disheveled James Garner type.
Deadline.com says Vince and his sister, Victoria Vaughn, will be producing the movie, so that explains the title role for him. The original show, which ran from 1974 to 1980, featured Garner as an ex-con private eye who was a fast talker and kind of on the sleazy side. Perfect for Vince!
He's actually pretty busy these days, getting ready for this summer's Neighborhood Watch with Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill, another flick called Lay The Favorite and an Owen Wilson team-up called The Internship. Be careful, Vince, you wouldn't want to ruin this project with overexposure.
