Watch the first footage of the return of 'Beavis and Butt-Head'
The Juice* already told you in February that Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head was returning to TV. That may or may not be good news to you. But with Comic-Con in full swing out in San Diego, the network has finally revealed five minutes of footage -- and it loks, well, like Beavis and Butt-Head.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Judge joked to a gathering at the geek convention he decided to bring back the show because he "felt like TV was getting too smart." The clips shown above make the show feel like it hadn't missed a day, although the most hilarious part is easily while the duo is watching Jersey Shore.
"It felt like pay-dirt to me," Judge said of the guidos and guidettes. "I hadn't seen it. I started watching the DVDs. I don’t feel good after watching it, but I kept watching it. They’re also watching UFC fights." The original animated series ended in 1997 after a eight-season run, mostly because Judge was sick of doing it.
"I quit because I was getting a little burnt out," Judge said. "(Then) I kept writing ideas down and kept thinking about doing a movie. King of the Hill was done and they came to me. And I thought this would be pretty fun to do. I guess the answer is: I like doing it. Also, I like to feel like they're kinda timeless." Indeed, Jersey Shore does prove idiotic behavior has no expiration date.
