Website wants to send M. Night Shyamalan to film school
There's plenty of pushback directed at M. Night Shyamalan, who manages to keep getting work despite the steadily declining quality of his movies. But apparently shooting a sci-fi flick with Will Smith and son Jaden is the final straw: Enter MNightSchool.com, a site set up to give M. Night the schooling he so desperately needs.
"We're crowdsourcing enough money to send M. Night Shyamalan back to film school," the site says. "Certainly, there must be 150,000 of us film lovers out there who are tired of his schlocky plot twists, canned dialogue, and over commercialized image as an 'auteur.' If we all donate just one dollar, we can send M. Night back to NYU so he gets the help we all so desperately need. Let's make it happen so we can get him enrolled before he starts principal photography on 1000 A.E."
The site goes on to say that when they get enough money, they will present a check to Shyamalan and request he get an education and tape the whole thing. If he refuses, they'll set up a scholarship in his name at NYU. Problem: He already graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts in 1992. The only thing dumber than sending him back is being one of the morons who has already pitched in $243 or so to send him there. Don't you dorks think that $1 could go to something more worthy, like Japan tsunami relief, NPR or Derby Lane?
