Whitney Houston reality show to debut on Lifetime without Whitney Houston
Since basic cable is never done picking a carcass clean, the Lifetime network has just signed a deal with Whitney Houston's family to produce a reality show. Isn't being on a reality show what started Whitney down this road to begin with?
The Houston Family Chronicles continues the disintegration of our society by following daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, mom Cissy Houston, brother Gary Houston and sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, plus the pair's daughter Rayah. Expect to see cousin Dionne Warwick and godmother CeCe Winans too, MTV reports.
Chronicles has been in the works for awhile now, but that doesn't mean the family can't still cash in. "I have been working with Simmons-Shelley (production company) over the past few years developing a project suitable for myself and our family," Pat Houston said in a statement. "The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward."
The show will mostly feature Pat and Gary "as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her mother." Girl, if your mom is the one you relied on the most, and then your family is doing all this on national TV, you've already got two strikes against you. Expect 10 episodes of this drivel later this year.
