Who'da thunk Fox was driven by money-grubbing marketing execs?
The Sanjaya Malakar mania may have subsided, but an interesting footnote to the American Idol phenom’s time on the airwaves includes a little marketing dustup. The Scoop reports Sanjaya told a Seattle radio station that he had wanted to sing Janis Joplin’s Mercedes Benz for a show, but wasn’t allowed because the show was sponsored by Ford. Pointless, really, but imagine what could have been had greed not gotten in the way.
