Will Ferrell will guest star on 'The Office' for 4 episodes
The Office is gearing up for the end of Steve Carell's run on the show, mostly by bringing on big names to distract you from the fact the show will likely die next season. Tonight's show features Ricky Gervais, natch, but Will Ferrell has signed up for a four-episode run, too. If only he were replacing Michael Scott.
Deadline.com confirms at least one of the four episodes, in which Ferrell will play a branch manager for Dunder Mifflin, will take place after Carell has left the show, but when that happens is up in the air. Executive producer Paul Lieberstein has high hopes for the appearance, saying "We are proud to continue The Office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see, tremendous raw sexuality."
Well, that's fine; it's like hiring traffic cops to oversee the sinking of the Titanic, anyway. Please, just have Will keep his shirt and pants on.
