Will Smith, Jada Pinkett part owners of Philadelphia 76ers, cut ticket prices

It seems that Will Smith hasn't forgotten his West Philadelphia roots: He and wife Jada Pinkett Smith are now part owners of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. The first order of business: Cut ticket prices for all their fans. Hey, it's not like they're gonna play this season, anyway.

After a new ownership group led by CEO Adam Aron bought the team on Tuesday, the announcement that some tickets would see prices drop by as much as 50 percent, if not more. "I'm announcing today that going forward, we are slashing – and I mean slashing – ticket prices on individual game tickets on just under 9,000 seats at the Wells Fargo Center for each and every Sixers home game," Aron said, according to "This is not a sale or a promotion. These are our new ticket prices."

The Juice* isn't much of a basketball fan, but this move has Will's fingerprints all over it. How many of his old Wynnefield pals asked him to do this, we wonder? That's the kind of price drop that would almost make us want to go to a game. Almost.
