Will Smith staying in a two-story, $2 million trailer for 'Men in Black III' filming
The Juice* has always liked Will Smith, mostly because he always seemed like such a genial, down-to-earth kind of guy. But forget all that, because folks in Manhattan have been complaining about his ginormous, double-decker personal trailer, which is parked smack in the middle of SoHo while he's shooting Men in Black III. Oh, also, he's making another Men in Black movie? Ugh.
How big is this beast? The New York Daily News says "The Heat," as the $2 million model from Anderson Mobile Estates is called, has 1,150 square feet of living space, featuring a lounge with a bar, a movie room with a 100-inch pulldown screen, a 50-inch plasma TV, a couple 37-inch TVs, a satellite uplink, room for makeup and wardrobe, a bedroom, office space for 30 people, a granite bathroom, marble floors throughout, a full kitchen and cherrywood cabinets, all in a giant, inconvenient package that is 53 feet long on 22 wheels and weighs about 30 tons, all for the low, low rent of $9,000 a week. Locals are understandably upset about the behemoth parked in a residential neighborhood, but the city says the trailer has a permit.
But besides having a second, 55-foot trailer for just his personal gym, Smith has gotten Sony Pictures to rent him a five-bedroom, 6.5-bath apartment in the city for $25,000 a month. You know, for when the trailer just isn't doing it for him. A broker tells the paper that Smith wanted a pool, and didn't want to have to share an elevator with normal people. So take that, SoHo residents.
