William Shatner blasts George Takei wedding
George Takei made sure that William Shatner wasn't invited to his September wedding to partner Brad Altman, and he had no qualms letting the media know about it, too. But now Shatner is fightin' mad, letting loose in a YouTube video (watch above) that he doesn't understand why George is so angry.
"The whole thing makes me feel badly," Shatner says. "... There's such a sickness there; It's so patently obvious that there's a psychosis there."
And while Takei has said part of the problem was Shatner constantly mugging for the cameras and reveling in his stardom, the good captain insists there must be another issue.
"If I was such a terrible force in his life -- even 40-some odd years later, because I haven't seen him -- that I affect his marriage, where he has to isolate it ... what kind of sickness is going on in the man?" Shatner asks. "There must be something else inside George that is festering and makes him so unhappy that he takes it out on me, in effect a total stranger."
Of course, Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig served as matron and man of honor, so George obviously doesn't hate everyone. Maybe Bill can't handle the idea that somebody just didn't care for him. What a stretch!
