William Shatner releases Shatoetry iPhone app today
Going the extra mile to prove there really is an app for that, William Shatner has produced a new widget for the iPhone called Shatoetry, which will let users build voice messages with the erstwhile Capt. Kirk's own words. Finally ... someone has ... devised a way ... to utilize Shatner's ... halting ... AND ACCENTUATED ... patterns of ... speech.
Shatoetry, which was released Thursday on the Apple App Store for $2.99, lets users choose a series of words Shatner has recorded (three different ways, no less) and string them together to make sentences. You can annoy all your friends on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube, as well, not just on your phone.
"It's as different and as unique as a sunrise," Shatner told the L.A. Times (watch part of the interview above). "Anything that you want to communicate you can draw up on these words and I say them." Oh goodie, we can't wait to use it to answer reader phone calls. We hope you like references to "double-dumbassing" and "Klingon bastards."
