'Wonder Woman' pilot footage shows how terrible the show was (with video!)
While we were simultaneously kinda happy and kinda sad that Adrianne Palicki's Wonder Woman was dropped by NBC, we couldn't help but be curious as to why. Was it because it was too expensive, or just too horrible to watch? Thanks to clips of the rejected pilot posted online, we now know it may have been one of the worst TV shows ever made.
TV.com revealed four clips of the Davd E. Kelley-penned show, which drew some heat for casting a relative unknown like Palicki, then putting her in long pants and toning down the patriotic flavor of her outfit. Good news: In some of the footage, she is actually wearing the starred hotpants, so there was that.
Take a gander at the footage above and below, which includes an overlong and poorly cut chase and an underlit and incredibly bad fight scene between WW and 20 guys in Under Armour. Note the security guard, who manages to fire (by Juice* count) 31 shots at Wonder Woman without reloading. Thrill to a hospital visit and a boardroom scene, and marvel at the t-shirt-worthy line, "I never said to merchandise my tits!" That's a meta storyline, right there.
