Yvette Wilson, a star on the TV show's Moesha and The Parkers, died Thursday after a fight with stage 4 cervical cancer, numerous sources report. She was 48.

NewsOne.com first reported Wilson's death, noting she was in financial straits and unable to pay her medical bills. "Oh god..... My heart is soooo unbelievably broken ...." her friend Shar Jackson tweeted late Thursday via @SharJackson. "I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.. ..."

Wilson's friend Jeffrey Pittle independently confirmed the news to the Washington Post. Pittle previously wrote on a Give Forward page for Wilson's medical bills the actress had many medical issues. "Yvette has experienced kidney failure, kidney transplants and cervical cancer, among other things," he wrote in January. "Her cancer has come back after an extended retreat, and doctors are saying it's very aggressive this time out."

The site aimed to first raise $25,000, then $50,000 of her expenses. Receipts totalled $13,624 as of Friday afternoon.

By Friday the page had been updated to read, "It is with a heavy heart that I can verify that Yvette passed away last evening after a lengthy and hard battle. She was a fighter to the end, and her talent, humor and amazing friendship will be sorely missed. She will live on through her awesome body of work. I would ask that you continue to donate on this page to support her family in this trying and sad time."

Wilson played Andell Wilkerson in both Moesha and the spinoff The Parkers. She also starred in the 1993 sitcom Thea and had small parts in FridayPoetic Justice, House Party 2 and 3 and Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
