Zsa Zsa Gabor will have her leg amputated
Zsa Zsa Gabor landed in the hospital Sunday night and will likely be getting her leg amputated, her husband said of the 93-year-old. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center and was being prepped for surgery.
"They may have to take her leg from the knee down," Prince Frederic von Anhalt told People after she was whisked away by ambulance. "She wanted to stay home and have a holiday. They wanted to do this before the holiday, but now the doctors have forced us. She is strong."The couple at least were able to spend New Year's Eve together sipping champagne and eating caviar.
The 93-year-old's spokesman explained she had developed a lesion on the back of her leg that has not healed, and has needed surgery for several days now. It's only the latest in a string of medical problems for Gabor, who has suffered a broken hip and circulation problems in recent months. We'll have to keep an eye out for it tomorrow, since she's now undergoing a round of antibiotics that should delay things a couple days, which is good.
