Country singer Jason Aldean's tour bus hits and kills an Indiana man
The tour bus for country star Jason Aldean killed a man early Monday morning in Knox County, Ind., when the pedestrian walked onto the highway in the dark, ABC News reports. No one else was injured.
Albert Kennedy of Vincennes, Ind., was hit by the bus about 1:28 a.m., police said. There was no indication why Kennedy was in the northbound lane. He died at the scene of "trauma to the head and chest," the incident report read. The driver was not found at fault, TMZ says.
"With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana," Aldean, 36, tweeted. "In all the years I've been touring and all the miles we've driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I'm praying for Albert Kennedy's family and friends today and ask that you do the same."
Aldean, who split from his wife earlier this year, was on the way from his eighth annual Concert for the Cure in New Orleans, La., where on Friday he had just announced raised more than $575,000 for Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer. An accident investigation is being conducted.
