DMX chosen to fight George Zimmerman
Wednesday would have been Trayvon Martin’s 19th birthday, had the unarmed teen not been fatally shot while walking home from a store. And here we are talking about the spectacle that will be his killer, George Zimmerman, fighting DMX in a celebrity (celebrity?!) boxing match on pay-per-view.
Pause while the nausea subsides.
Zimmerman wanted Kanye West, but out of 15,000 applicants, DMX, 43, was chosen to fight 30-year-old Zimmerman, TMZ reports. The boxing enthusiast apparently issued an open challenge to anyone who wanted a piece of him, and boy does DMX.
“I am going to beat the living f--- out him,” the rapper said. “I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f--- him right up.”
Zimmerman’s been training for months for the three-round match. The date, time and place will be announced at a press conference next Wednesday, assuming money doesn't hold things up. DMX's rep says contract negotiations are ongoing.
So, if Zimmerman loses, does that mean he has to go away forever? That should be in the rules.
