After denying the rumors she was leaving for months, Elisabeth Hasselbeck's last day at The View was Wednesday before leaving for Fox News Channel. She will replace Gretchen Carlson on Fox & Friends in the fall. Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade are probably not complaining.

“I’m really happy and excited to confirm I will be joining the Fox & Friends team in September and I would first like to thank Mr. (Roger) Ailes, Bill Shine, and the entire Fox Channel for this incredible opportunity,” Hasselbeck said Wednesday, according to

Her move is part of rebuilding at the ABC morning show, which also sees Joy Behar leaving and Barbara Walters retiring. "I’m happy you’re going,” Walters said before instantly trying to take it back. “No, I’m NOT! I’m happy it’s good for you.” You ain't fooling anyone, Babs.

The announcement about the switch came on Tuesday. Either ABC wanted her gone badly, or Fox News really needed her to replace Carlson, who is getting her own daytime show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Now we're hearing various reports that Jenny McCarthy or Brooke Shields may join The View. We'll have to continue not watching morning television for the foreseeable future.
