Emilia Clarke, Brie Larson in the running to play Sarah Connor in 'The Terminator' reboot
There are two actresses in the running to play Sarah Connor in the reboot of The Terminator Paramount has planned for July 2015, and neither of them are Katie Holmes. We should be happy about that, but we're not, because, well, you know how we feel about reboots or remakes or rehashes of any kind.
Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones and Brie Larson of indie release Short Term 12 are on the list, according to Deadline Hollywood. We have to give the edge to Clarke, simply because director Alan Taylor worked with her when she played Daenerys Tagaryen. Larson looks pretty tough, though.
Either woman will have to sign up for a radical physical makeover if they follow the plot of the original James Cameron versions, where Connor transforms from a girly waitress in the first movie to a hardcore killer in the second. The good news is that Kyle Reese is a character (natch), but the bad news is that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back to play the killer cyborg again in what is supposed to be a trilogy (we can't even speculate on the TV series The Hollywood Reporter says is going to coincide with this whole mess). Nothing is scarier than a killer robot in his 60s.
