Gal Gadot to play Wonder Woman in 'Batman vs. Superman'
Okay, okay, simmer down, nerds. Warner Bros. has found its Wonder Woman to star in Batman vs. Superman -- Fast & Furious 6 star Gal Gadot. Her real name must have sounded enough like a superhero to make her the most qualified.
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe," director Zack Snyder said, according to Variety. "Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."
Somewhere, Adrianne Palicki is grinding her teeth after her 2011 pilot was apparently so awful even NBC wouldn't pick it up. Now Israeli actress Gadot is getting set to star alongside Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. Palicki's agent should have told her to do a Fast & Furious movie! G.I. Joe: Retaliation just doesn't cut it. Ask Joe costar Elodie Yung, who was reportedly turned down for the role (and Oblivion's Olga Kurylenko, which really bums us out.).
