'G.I. Joe' director being mentioned to shepherd 'Star Trek 3'
There's a serious rumble out there that G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu may take over for J.J. Abrams to helm the third Star Trek movie. Just let that sink in for a second.
Latino-Review.com's Kellvin Chavez says Chu is the frontrunner to drive the ship for the 2016 installment, which would arrive for the 50th anniversary of the TV series. IGN adds that Fast & Furious 6's Justin Lin, Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol's Brad Bird and Attack the Block's Joe Cornish may be in the running, too.
IGN also adds that Chu is supposed to reboot Masters of the Universe and make G.I. Joe 3, so you should take the story with a grain of salt. Also, they're making a Masters of the Universe reboot and another G.I. Joe movie, but Pacific Rim is a domestic failure. How does any of that news make life fair?
