HBO renews 'Game of Thrones' for a fourth season
In a move that should surprise absolutely no one who pays attention to such things, a fourth season of Game of Thrones has been confirmed. That's what Sunday's series-topping ratings will get you.
Entertainment Weekly says it'll be all bloodletting and CGI dragons for another year, because HBO has announced an order for 10 more episodes. That's plenty of time for the betrayal and murder to spread, with an appearance by Strong Belwas surely in the works, right?
The show has a budget of about $55 million a season, which is quite a chunk of change, but HBO doesn't mind. It's raking cash through international viewers and DVD sales. That's good, because HBO Go is a mess and most people can't seem to afford premium cable anymore.
