It's common knowledge comedian and talk-show host Chelsea Handler used to have a bit of what you'd call a drinking problem, but even though she swears she's cut back, you can tell it still makes her do dumb things. Like pay $500 to have a pack of cigarettes delivered.
According to the New York Daily News, Handler told podcast WTF with Marc Maron on Monday she was having drinks with friends at her Bel Air home, and since she was drinking, she decided she wanted to smoke, which she is wont to do. She didn't want to drive, so she called Yummy.com, an area grocery delivery service. So sad, they said, because her home was out of their delivery range. That doesn't stop a big star like Chelsea Handler.
Even with the new title of World's Most Beautiful Woman and a new baby under her belt, Beyonce admitted there's one thing that really got under her skin the last few months -- those rumors her daughter Blue Ivy was birthed by a surrogate while she wore a prosthetic and faked the pregnancy. Yeah, we can see how that would be annoying.
"That was crazy. It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy," the 30-year-old singer told People. "(I thought) 'Where did they come up with this?'" Indeed, her own mother, Tina Knowles was especially incredulous about the rampant gossip.
Just when you thought the celebreality shows on E! couldn't get more pointless or obscure, Katy bar the door because Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle are the next in line. Yeah, we thought the ascension of One Direction did the Jonas Bros. in for good, too, but we all know at the end of the world there will be nothing left but Twinkies and former Disney child stars.
Married To Jonas is (of course) produced by Ryan Seacrest, and will focus on the couple's two-year-old marraige and Kevin's upcoming album with brothers Joe and Nick. The show premieres Aug. 19, but the 24-year-old elder Jonas has been on Seacrest's radar since 2009, it looks like.
It's always good to get some baby news during the first part of the week, so Maggie Gyllenhaal and husband Peter Sarsgaard are happy to oblige us. They now have a new baby girl to go along with 5-year-old daughter Ramona.
Gloria Ray was born April 19 in New York, the second kid for both Maggie, 34, and Peter, 41. That's right, they actually don't have other kids running around outside their marriage, a rarity in today's celebrity marriages.
The Kardashian clan has just ordered up three more seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but what about Khloe & Lamar, Khloe Kardashian's show with husband Lamar Odom? That show is about as done as Odom's career with the Dallas Mavericks -- and finished almost as quickly, too.
"Khloe has pulled the plug," a source told Us Weekly about the spinoff, which had two seasons, the last of which was in Dallas after the L.A. Lakers traded her husband. The pair "have decided he should train all offseason. And she's exhausted from filming!" Because shooting a reality show is as strenuous as a lockout-compressed NBA season.
A rep was quick to point out to People, however, "it has NOT been cancelled. It's just on hold now while schedules are figured out. It will depend on their schedules, as Lamar's basketball schedule is a priority."
Patrick Dempsey may play a world-class neurosurgeon on Grey's Anatomy, but he gave notice he's willing to play firefighters and rescue workers after saving a teenager trapped in a wrecked car this week. And his hair even stayed in place, we're sure.
A young motorist lost control of his Mustang around 5 p.m. Tuesday in Malibu, Calif., near Dempsey's house. The kid totaled the ride, flipping it several times and ending up in McDreamy's front yard, TMZ reports. Unfazed, the actor rushed out the front door with a crowbar and apparently got the kid out with no major incident. Given his proclivity toward auto racing, he probably knows a thing or two about escaping wrecked cars.
It may have taken a month for her to respond, but Alicia Silverstone is slapping back at all those people who got the gasface about her feeding her son Bear Blu by pre-chewing his food. Because those people are really weird for thinking feeding your kid like a bird is odd.
"I can understand that it would make some people feel uncomfortable, possibly, because it's new to them," Silverstone told Entertainment Tonight. "But I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years -- still going on all over the place -- and it's natural. It's a part of the weaning process, so while I'm still breast-feeding it's just a way to introduce him to food when he doesn't have teeth… and he can't chew."
It's been almost three years since their first child, so it's time for Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. to expand the brood. The actress is expecting her second some time this year, just in time to disrupt her first steady work in years on Ringer.
"She and Freddie are thrilled," the obligatory unnamed friend of the family told Us. "They're amazing parents." The couple, who were married in 2002, had daughter Charlotte Grace in September 2009.
It should be obvious by now The Juice* lurves us some American Horror Story, and not just because it involves a lot of gruesome deaths and eternal damnation. No, it actually spins a good yarn. That's why we are happy to relay that Chloe Sevigny is in talks to join the show for Season 2. That will balance out the Adam Levine stuff, for sure.
Entertainment Weekly says the Big Love actress is in final negotiations to play a character called Shelly the Nymphomaniac, who will be a bitter enemy of Jessica Lange's character. That sounds like a ratings bonanza across several different demographics, right there.
It's good to see Lindsay Lohan is turning her life around and getting back into acting by shooting a guest spot on Glee. Wait, what was that? She was three hours late for her shoot and was annoying everyone? Yeah, sounds about right.
"Lindsay was a total nightmare," a source tells E!. "She was three hours late in the morning (on Wednesday), and when she did finally arrive, she just didn't want to be there. She did not want to work. She had not memorized her lines, and she kept disappearing so no one could find her."
The source says producers had to send a car to the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood to get her. And while she's had some good scenes on the set, the Wednesday fiasco irritated plenty of people. "She has rubbed them all up the wrong way by being so disrespectful of everyone else's schedule," a source noted, adding that people have started calling Lindsay "That Girl." That's probably one of the nicer names she's being called.
The members of the Killers are in mourning this week after announcing saxophonist Tommy Marth killed himself over the weekend. The 33-year-old was found dead in his Las Vegas-area home Monday morning.
"Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy," the band posted on their Facebook page and Twitter account. The Clark County Coroner's office confirmed the cause of death as a suicide to E! online.
The website notes Marth joined the band in 2005, four years after Brandon Flowers and Co. started playing together. Marth played on albums Sam's Town and Day & Age before joining them as a touring member in 2008. E! also says Marth played with Vegas bands the Big Friendly Corporation and Black Camaro.
We're not afraid to admit until a few weeks ago, we had never heard of Brit-Irish boy band One Direction, which apparently every female younger than 15 thinks is the greatest thing since downloadable bread. Imagine our surprise, then, when we heard a couple of the quintet's members have been expressing concern they may have chlamydia! From a koala! Say, that's a great excuse, fellas.
The U.K.'s Sun says members Liam Payne and Harry Styles freaked during a trip to an Australian animal sanctuary in Brisbane on April 20 when the 18-year-olds held a koala named Kat, only to find out that 80 percent of the continent's marsupial bears have the STD, and that a good number of those have a strain that can be passed to humans. Humans like the two boys and their bandmates, Louis Tomlinson, 20; Niall Horan, 18' and Zayn Malik, 19. That's so you can officially say you've heard of them.
Further proof that Britney Spears and Jason Trawick are likely to stay together for a good long while came late Wednesday in the form of news that he's been added as a co-conservator for Brit's estate with dad Jamie. Well, then, why even marry her? He already has what he needs. Oh, yeah, and that whole "he loves her" thing.
"Jamie's thrilled," lawyer Geraldine Wyle told People after the hearing Wednesday. "It's all in the family." Wait, what does that even mean? The mag says Trawick won't have any legal control over Britney, who made the request to add Jason, but a conservator does make decisions on things like food, clothing and medical care. Jamie and another attorney control the purse strings, even though Britney supposedly has a lot of independence.
