Jim Carrey says he will be in the 'Dumb & Dumber' sequel, whenever that happens
It's been almost 20 years, but Jim Carrey has committed to be in a direct sequel to 1994's Dumb & Dumber with Jeff Daniels. All they need is a start date. And a reason to make a sequel to that movie.
"I'm ready. There is a script. It's fun. Jeff and I are raring to go," Carrey toled E!'s Marc Malkin at South by Southwest over the weekend. But there's one hitch: No shooting schedule. "It's administrative," Carrey explained. "The green light committees have to have their way."
That sounds like thinly veiled contempt to us, even after Carrey dropped out last June because he wasn't all that interested. We all know the studios are just worried after that awful prequel, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, came out in 2003, it likely killed any franchise potential. No, don't worry, people will still pay hard-earned money to watch that garbage.
