In case you ever wondered if the gossipsphere ever got things right, take this news to heart: Mad Men star Jon Hamm is going to have surgery on this throat in Boston next week, just like Life & Style said he would. Wait, that's terrible news!

“He’s having a single polyp removed from his throat,” his rep told ABC News. The rep said it was just a “routine outpatient procedure.” It doesn't sound so routine the way Life & Style put it it, saying the 42-year-old decided to see a doctor after coughing up blood.

"January Jones was talking about it at the Governors Ball afterparty last night," a source told the mag. Then she and Hamm started talking about a fantasy football league, they said.

Life & Style did say singers and actors who use their voices a lot tend to get polyps, however. For a second the only thing that flashed in our minds was all the cigarettes he's been smoking for his AMC show.
