Jonah Hill was paid $60,000 to star in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'
$60,000. That’s how much Jonah Hill was paid to act in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.
Accepting such laughable chump change for seven whole months of work was no big deal to Hill, who was absolutely desperate to work with Scorsese, he told Howard Stern: “They gave me the lowest amount of money possible, that was their offer. I said, 'I will sign the paper tonight … I want to sign them tonight before they change their mind.”
The Moneyball actor, who was just nominated for his second Oscar, gushed about the opportunity, the New York Daily News reports.
“I would sell my house and give (Scorsese) all my money to work for him. I would have done anything in the world. I would do it again in a second,” he said. “I got to f---ing be in a Martin Scorsese movie and I just got nominated for an Oscar,” he told Stern. “I’m tripping out, Howard … I’m in shock. I’m totally in shock.”
Yeah, well, we’re shocked that an Oscar winner would ever accept such a measly paycheck. Now we’re off to sip Cristal and hunt for a larger velvet pouch in which to stash our rubies.
