Word got out that Justin Bieber has been renting a home in the Atlanta area and that he may be moving to an affluent neighborhood there, so naturally this happened. Only what appeared to be a protest was really a hoax orchestrated by the Regular Guys, a morning show on Atlanta radio station Rock 100.5.

The Regular Guys created a fake neighborhood group and had them hold (hilarious) signs demanding that the Biebs keep out of affluent Buckhead, host Larry Wachs admitted Monday, according to CNN.

“@theregularguys show got 33 international media outlets including TMZ to generate 45,000 plus news stories,” Wachs said.

The show’s Tim Andrews pretended to be a retired man named Harold White, the face of the protest, who was interviewed by CNN, the BBC and others.

“We’re concerned he’ll bring the wrong type of element into a quiet, residential area,” Andrews said. “It is our position that a person with his means could certainly find a neighborhood more suited to his eclectic lifestyle.”

You got punked, CNN et al!
