Justin Bieber retiring — or is he? We’re still confused

Don't tease us, Biebs.

Just as visions of sugarplums danced in the heads of tweens all over the world, Justin Bieber took to Twitter late on Christmas Eve to drop the bomb that he’s retiring.

My beloved beliebers I’m officially retiring, he tweeted at 10:20 p.m.

The Heartbreaker then spewed out two more tweets to make us all say wha?

At 11:02 p.m.: The media talks a lot about me. They make a (sic) up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I’m never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle.

Two minutes later: Be kind and loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER.

Whatever that means.

The move made everyone — and we mean everyone — freak out (yeah, we’re looking at you, former Juicer* Joshua Gillin), but now a source tells Us Weekly that it was all just some clever, clever satire.

“He isn’t retiring, clearly,” the source said. “It was a joke and he explained in two tweets afterwards! He is basically poking fun of how quickly news spreads without anyone vetting it if is true or not.”

Okay, so it looks like he isn’t really leaving us alone yet. But, I mean, Never Say Never.
