Justin Timberlake's aunt arrested for stealing $64,000 from JT's stepfather
Justin Timberlake's aunt is in the pokey after allegedly stealing something to the tune of $64,000 from JT's parents by using forged checks. You can take the boy out of Tennessee, but you can't take Tennessee out of the boy's family. Wait, that doesn't even make sense.
Jane Harless, 53, was arrested in Shelby County, Tenn., on Friday when cops say they had proof she forged 121 checks, Memphis TV station WMC-TV reports. Her brother Paul Harless is Timberlake's stepfather, marrying JT's mother Lynn when the singer was 5. The scheme involved her faking her brother's signature on checks made out to herself between 2011 and 2013.
Paul Harless is a minority owner of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies and Timberlake's Mirimichi golf course in Millington, Tenn. Jane Harless used to work for her brother and sister-in-law during those years and stole $64,700.
"Some of the family members noticed some discrepancies and then it was sort of easy from that point to sort of see exactly what happened," Chip Washington of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said. Well, you'd think when the family makes millions, no one would miss a few thousand here and there.
