After canceling the rest of her Born This Way Ball tour (including a planned Tampa stop) because her hip joints were giving out and she needed surgery, Lady Gaga thanked fans right after she knew her operation was a success. Remember that the next time Rihanna complains about how busy she is.

Gaga posted a missive on and through her Twitter account early Thursday, saying her fans’ support is what is giving her the strength to carry on.

“As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance,  your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles — sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it’s even possible,” she wrote. “So I thought to myself, I’m alive, I’m living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I’m grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not. You have changed my life. I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives. If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything.”

Did we mention Gaga is now confined to a wheelchair while she recovers from her synovitis? And that she named the wheelchair Emma? Well, she did. We hope to see her back on tour soon, but seriously, it could be next year she sets foot in Tampa again, quite literally.
