You may not be sick of Dexter, but the Showtime drama is going away after season 8, CBS honcho Les Moonves said Monday. Whether he meant to tell people or not is a matter of some debate.

“We have Ray Donovan coming on with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter’s last season starting in June, and then we have Masters of Sex,” Moonves said during a Wall Street conference in Palm Beach on Monday, The Hollywood Reporter says. When you say something is starting its last season and you’re the CEO of CBS, that usually means the show is starting its last season.

CBS, which owns Showtime, told THR there was “nothing confirmed” about the fate of premium cable’s favorite serial killer, but what does that spokesperson know? Moonves may be calling to have that person fired as you read this.
