Sorry folks, it looks like there really will be a trial for Lindsay Lohan next week. We hoped and prayed and crossed every finger, but it looks like the prosecution has given up trying to cut a deal. it seems they really want her punished for lying to police. Imagine that!

“A plea deal in the case isn’t going to happen unless Lindsay comes to her senses. She refuses any deal that will send her to jail or rehab. She is confident that she will be acquitted of the charges of lying to cops,” a source tells RadarOnline in an oddly specific and thorough quote.

“Lindsay’s attorney, Mark Heller, and the prosecutor have reached an impasse in the talks, and Terry White, the Los Angeles City Attorney handling the case, is now in full preparation for the trial. The key witnesses, including the passenger in Lindsay’s car that day, Gavin Doyle, and her bodyguard, have all been told they can expect to testify in the case next week.”

As part of the trial that is scheduled to start Tuesday, the city attorney wants either 45 days of jail time or 90 days in rehab, the site says, which translates to about 5 days in jail or a three-week rehab stay in the real world. And this is just for lying about being the driver when her Porsche hit that cement truck; Imagine what will happen if her probation gets revoked for breaking the law! It’s almost like she’s planning a new reality show to jumpstart her career. It’s got to be better than Liz & Dick.
