Olivia Munn announces non-engagement via hilarious Instagram, melts Americans' hearts
You may have heard on Tuesday that Olivia Munn and equally good-looking NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers are engaged. Much to our dismay, that rumor is false, but at least it has borne comic relief in the form of Munn’s handling of the situation via her Instagram account.
The actress — and one and only reason to endure an entire episode of The Newsroom — posted a text exchange with her adorable Asian mom. We’ll let them take it from here:
“Oh man you engagement??” her mom’s text said. “You know we love Aaron. I pray say thanks for him all the times. I bet [your dog] Chance happy. Hey why don’t you tell me first?”
Munn’s reply: “Oh my gosh Mom no. You know you shouldn’t believe gossip on the Internet. If I was engaged, I promise you’d be like the 8th person to know. Maybe 9th. But definitely way before the Internet.”
Munn provided a supplementary explanation in the caption field, writing, “Answering yes or no to personal questions can be tricky because if you say 'No’ it means whenever you say 'No comment’ that kind of becomes your default 'Yes.’ But since I’m doing press for the next few days, I didn’t want to have to answer the same question over and over. So instead, I’m going to let my text conversation with my Asian mom help me out.”
Taking it in stride, Munn’s mother ended things with this gem: “Okay sound good. I see you going to be on Kelly and Michael show. Tell her I love her. She so delicate, work out a lot I think. And Colberto too! Oh man you see everyone I love. Okay I have to go. Tell Aaron and Chance I said hi.”
Can we just go ahead and become Olivia Munn’s adopted siblings now? Kthanks.
