Paris Jackson cut herself with a meat cleaver, called suicide hotline
Michael Jackson's 15-year-old daughter Paris allegedly used a meat cleaver to cut her wrists, but wasn't looking to die, reports said Thursday. It also wasn't the first time she had made a suicide attempt.
Contrary to earlier reports, Jackson did leave a suicide note, TMZ says, and called a suicide hotline. The operator was the one who called 911, resulting in a 72-hour 5150 psychiatric hold (kind of like Florida's Baker Act). The site also says Paris got stitches in her arms, and had consumed an unspecified quantity of Motrin pills, but didn't want to die.
She wanted attention. ... She wanted to be saved," a source told TMZ. "It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house."
Fox News says another source told them Paris has a cutting disorder that has been an ongoing problem.
“Look at her life, it’s not normal and this is hardly a surprise. While this is the most serious attempt, it is not the first time. There have been many signs of problems before this,” the source said. “Paris is now surrounded by people that, up until a few years ago, she barely even knew. Before that, she spent her public life wearing a mask and witnessing the problems that her dad had. The fact that she and (her brother) Prince saw their father for dead that day, well that’s incredibly traumatizing in itself.”
Fox adds there are rumors of a custody battle gearing up between Paris' mother Debbie Rowe and matriarch Katherine Jackson. Lawyers are mum on that, but considering several people are saying Paris likes to cut herself and has tried this before, we see another legal battle on the horizon.
