Paul Giamatti will join 'Downton Abbey' for Season Four
Let's all step back from our Mad Men overanalyses for a moment, TV viewers, and carry on about another good drama, Downton Abbey. The good news for us Yanks is that another American is joining the cast. The bad news is that we're going to have to keep waiting for him.
Paul Giamatti will play brother of Elizabeth McGovern's Cora and son to Shirley MacLaine's Martha, who is due to return in the show's fourth season, TVLine.com reports. As for right now (spoilers!) he's only slated to show up for the season finale. That means you'll have to sit through seven or eight weeks before seeing him. Producers do say he will "upset the Granthams' apple cart," however. What a new development.
There's a whole slew of new characters on the way, which is good, considering we're well on our way to the Great Depression. Dame Harriet Walters will show up as the Dowager Countess' friend, Nigel Harman will play a new valet and Tom Cullen will shake things up for Michelle Dockery's Mary. How positively scandalous!
