Photographer sues Justin Bieber in alleged 2012 assault
Justin Bieber has another headache stemming from a run-in with a photographer, this time being blamed for attacking a paparazzo last year. At least it's actually Bieber being accused and not his bodyguards.
A suit filed in L.A. by Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran claims in May 2012 Bieber and Selena Gomez (back when they were dating) were in a shopping center parking lot in Calabasas, Calif. The pair got into a big Mercedes Sprinter van and tried to leave, but were blocked by a group of snap-happy photogs.
Bieber was yelling, "F--- off! Get out of my way!" at the shooters when he got out, ran up to Duran and "delivered a martial-arts type kick" to Duran's ribs, the filing says, according to E!. He then punched Duran on the right side of his face, the complaint says. We didn't know Bieber was a southpaw.
There were a lot of people taking photos just then, so you'd think there'd be more images of it. Duran does say Gomez got out of the car and told him to stop, then apologized later by saying, "I'm sorry, I don't know why he did that."
The county D.A. investigated the incident and didn't press charges, and witness say Bieber actually got out of the car and fell flat on his face, losing a shoe. Duran counters Bieber lost the shoe because he was busy kicking Duran in the ribs. The photographer is asking for unspecified damages, but for some strange reason, Bieber's lawyer just doesn't seem to be taking this one very seriously. We wonder why.
