Randy Jackson confirms he's leaving 'American Idol'
While speculation runs rampant that all four judges on American Idol are finished, we now know at least one quarter of that report is true. Randy Jackson has announced he's leaving the show after this season. Yeah, it's probably good to catch a lifeboat off that Titanic now.
"Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season," he told E!. "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures."
Jackson was the only original judge still on the show, now in its 12th season. Since he also is no longer Mariah Carey's agent, it makes you wonder what else he's going to do. E! says he's writing a book, collaborating with carey and others, working on other TV deals and working on a fashion accessory line. A diet food line isn't out of the question, y'know.
