Reese Witherspoon: Now is the time for 'Legally Blonde 3'
As I was catching up on my DVR viewing so very early Monday morning, I discovered that Reese Witherspoon, my Southern-style hero, appeared on Fashionably Late With Rachel Zoe last week.
Yes, Zoe + Witherspoon. I almost fainted.
It was on the late-night talk show that the actress endorsed the idea of making Legally Blonde a trilogy.
“It would be pretty cool,” the Draper James designer said. “I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately.”
Multiple ideas have been pitched for a sequel over the years, but nothing ever stuck, and Witherspoon wouldn’t reveal any hypothetical story lines. What she did say: America is ready for Legally Blonde 3.
“It’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women,” she said. “And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or somebody who runs for office.”
Don’t get too excited because there are no plans officially in the works, though Witherspoon did say that after considering a new installment, she would announce her decision in the Rose Garden.
