'Revenge' creator Mike Kelley leaves show before word on renewal
While fans of ABC's Revenge wait to see if the show is renewed for a third season, creator and showrunner Mike Kelley has shown himself the exit, in any case. See, you guys shoulda listened when he kept saying he couldn't maintain the show's quality.
“Helming this series has been the ride of a lifetime, and my producing partner, Melissa Loy, and I will look back on our Revenge time with deep gratitude and respect for Emily (VanCamp) and Madeleine (Stowe) and the rest of the incredible cast, our heroic crew, the dedicated and imaginative producing and writing team, and the tireless post production department,” Kelley said, according to Deadline.com. Both Kelley and ABC called the move "a difficuly mutual decision." He may continue to work as a consultant for the show.
The site says Kelley has long been asking for half orders of the show to maintain quality, instead of stretching the series out to 22 episodes per year. Deadline also speculates writer and executive producer Sunil Nayar may replace him. If there's another season, that is.
