Robert Downey Jr. agrees to be in next two 'Avengers' movies
If there was any concern over whether Robert Downey Jr. would return as Iron Man, breathe easy. The actor has agreed to return for at least two more Avengers movies. We can only guess how much he's getting paid for that.
After cashing in with the fifth-highest grossing film of all time in Iron Man 3, Downey cashed in his chips to star in the next two ensemble pieces, the next of which is beginning production in March 2014 for a May 1, 2015 release, The Hollywood Reporter says. Joss Whedon is returning to write and direct that one, so Disney and Marvel may as well start printing their own Moviebux right now and save everyone the wait.
Downey reportedly made $50 million for the first Avengers, and has said he didn't necessarily want to make an Iron Man 4. With no details on this new contract, we can only guess how much he'll be making, but he'll likely be making it through 2017.
