Sinead O'Conner is alive and ranting on Facebook again after posting apparent suicide note
A disturbing message posted Sunday on Sinead O’Connor’s Facebook page said the 48-year-old singer had “taken an overdose” and fled to a hotel somewhere in Ireland.
“The last two nights finished me off,” the note said. “I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in ireland, under another name.”
By Monday, she was back at it, calling her family "child stealing murderers."
"I never wanna see you again," O'Conner wrote in a note addressed to her children, baby daddies and sister. "You stole my sons from me. Then you had hypocrisy to come to hospital and then not be here when I wake and not pick up phone? I'm s--- to you. You're dead to me. You killed your mother. You stole my sons. You left me alone for twelve weeks! Why did I have to hear it was your hypocritical a--es here while I was unconscious?? And now you're Gone and not picking up phone? You are child stealing murderers, I never want to see or hear from any of you again. Why were you here when you're the ones who put me here???? And where the f--- are you now??? Murderers. Liars. Hypocrites. All of you. You caused this."
O’Connor had posted a number of concerning Facebook statuses over the past few days, many of which referenced her custody battle with husband Donal Lunny over their 11-year-old son, Shane.
The Irish singer addressed Sunday’s note to Lunny and several other family members — even her son’s girlfriend — saying that they didn’t appreciate her and alleging “appalling cruelty” on their parts.
“Well done guys, you’ve finally got rid of me,” O’Connor wrote. “Sorry the penny didn’t drop sooner. I’m an idiot. When you planned to get me away from my babies did you plan for me losing my mind over it? ”
In 2007, O’Connor told Oprah Winfrey that she attempted suicide on her 33rd birthday in 1999. In January 2012, she took to Twitter to seek help after allegedly attempting to kill herself again.
O’Connor told Winfrey on her show eight years ago that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but flip-flopped in 2014, telling Winfrey that three other doctors told her she was not bipolar.
“I could have been dead here for weeks already and they’d never have known,” O’Connor wrote Sunday. “Because apparently I’m scum and deserve to be abandoned and treated like shit just when I’ve had my womb and ovaries chopped out and my child is frighteningly sick. I’m such a rotten horrible mother and Person , that I’ve been alone. Howling crying for weeks. And been told by them all to go f--k myself. I’m invisible. I don’t matter a shred to anyone. No one has come near me. I’ve died a million times already with the pain of it.”
Irish police said O’Connor is “safe and sound” but would not give any other updates.
Over the past few days, O’Connor posted a series of messages accusing a woman of holding her son against his will. She also wrote, “(I’m) desperately in need of a job and a place to live … I need a new home. And a new job. A new life. Music is over for me. Music did this. It rendered me invisible. Murdered my soul. I’m never going back to music.”
Maybe she should quit Facebook instead.
