Solange attacks Jay Z as sister Beyonce looks on

Congrats, Solange, for getting your first hit in years!

We’re not talking about a new single, though. No, no. We’re talking about the beatdown Beyonce’s sister laid on an unsuspecting Jay Z while the three were in an elevator after attending a Met Gala after-party last week.

Cue the memes, hashtag #WhatJayZSaidToSolange.

TMZ obtained a full security video of the incident at the Standard Hotel in NYC, and you can clearly see the Losing You singer totally losing her ish for reasons unknown. Three minutes of violence, finger-waving, apparent shouting (though there’s no audio) and awkward trappedness ensue.

A witness at the Boom Boom Room party tells Us Weekly that nothing seemed amiss during the bash. At one point, Beyonce and her younger sister hit the dance floor with Naomi Campbell while Jay Z hung back at a fireplace. The insider says the trio did leave abruptly, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Then came the horrific elevator ride.

The video shows Jay, Bey and Solange entering the lift with a security guard. Solange immediately corners Jay Z then unleashes the fury, punching and kicking Mr. Carter multiple times — and throwing her exploding purse at him for good measure.

The guard hits the E brake, grabs Solange and tries to calm the sitch while Beyonce stands idly by — likely in an effort to protect her Givenchy Haute Couture gown. Really though, who can blame her? Plus, in Bey’s defense, when Solange later went after her brother-in-law — repeatedly — Yonce calmly stepped between them to protect her man from all that cray.

The entertainers seemed to make nice over the weekend, though. Beyonce and her hubs took Solange’s 9-year-old son Juelz to the Brooklyn Nets game on Saturday while Bey’s sis performed with M.I.A. at a Vulture Festival concert. On Sunday, Solange tweeted, “This might have been top 10 days ever in life.”

And then came Monday, when the footage was leaked. And then Tuesday, when it was noticed that Solange deleted all the photos of Beyonce from her Instagram account. Except for one.

For their part, the people of the Standard Hotel said in a statement that they are “shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”

Sadly, none of their reps are talking. Yawn.
