Usher's 5-year-old son recovering after almost drowning in pool
Usher's 5-year-old son is recovering in an Atlanta hospital after almost drowning in the family pool on Monday, TMZ reports. The singer wasn't home at the time.
The site says Usher Raymond V was playing in the pool with his aunt around 6 p.m. Monday when his arm got stuck in an underwater drain while the boy was trying to retrieve a toy. The aunt and the maid both tried to pull him free but was unable, but two men working in the house were able to rescue him.
Someone performed CPR on him and took him to the hospital. Usher came home and rode in the ambulance with his son, TMZ says. Both he and the boy's mother, Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, are with him at the hospital's ICU.
Usher Raymond V is the older of the couple's two boys. Foster's own 11-year-old son Kile (from a prior relationship) died last year after being hit with a jet ski in a lake.
