Worry not! Ol’ Dillo returned to Willie Nelson
It’s okay, everyone. We can all go about our normal business now, because the stuffed varmint that serves as Willie Nelson’s on-stage mascot has been returned post-dillonapping.
The stuffed carcass named Ol’ Dillo was stolen from Nelson’s Las Vegas-area show while the country music legend was greeting audience members at the Westin Lake Las Vegas resort in Henderson last week.
Westin marketing director Matt Boland told the Associated Press that Nelson’s crew called from the road in the middle of the night to request that the resort check its surveillance footage after they realized the armadillo was missing. Boland was outside the hotel the next morning when a man drove up and handed him a shoebox and instructions to return it to Nelson.
The dead ’dillo, safe and sound, was sent to Willie in Cali.
