Add personal photos to your smartphone case with the PixCase
Over in the retail area at CTIA Wireless in Orlando this week I came across a unique smartphone case. The PixCase by Jaymo is sort of a photo frame and a case. It's made to hold your favorite photo for instant and frequent customization of your phone. You use an included template to cut your photo for a perfect fit, then just insert the photo and snap it together. The case is available for the iPhone, iPod, iPad and various Blackberries. No Android cases yet but they say they have them in development.
Two similar cases, the SpiritCase and PIYCase (Personalize It Yourself), come with pre-printed background designs, letters and numbers so you can make a custom insert for your favorite school, sports team, fraternity or whatever. Additional designs can be created and printed on the Jaymo web site.
Other products by Jaymo include the PixPen/PIYPen and PixMug/PIYMug that work similarly to the phone cases. With Father's and Mother's Day coming up these would be fun gifts that could show off your kids' photos or artwork. They're available at photo stores and retailers.
